Shop Truck & Trailer Brake Discs at Truckstop Group
Commercial vehicle brake discs wear under heavy and sustained use. Unlike passenger car applications, HGV brake discs are subjected to greater thermal and mechanical stress, particularly on steer and drive axles operating under load. When discs wear below minimum thickness, warp or show cracking, replacement is required. Delaying this increases pad wear, reduces stopping performance and risks brake failure on an overloaded or high-mileage vehicle.
Our disc range is catalogued by vehicle and axle application. Products cover a broad spread of HGV makes and models: Volvo FH, FM, FL and FE series; Renault C, T, Premium Dxi and Magnum Dxi; Mercedes-Benz Actros (MP II, MP III and MP IV), Antos, Arocs and Atego; DAF; Scania; and Iveco Daily. Trailer axle discs are also available for SAF/Sauer, Haldex ModulT and related systems.
Several disc variants include a built-in ABS ring or are available with steel ABS alternatives. Vented disc variants are stocked for applications where the solid disc equivalent is not sufficient for the thermal demands of the axle position. Fitting kits containing hub bolts, retaining plates and seals are available separately; see our brake pad & disc fitting kits collection.
Discs must always be replaced as axle pairs to maintain balanced braking. Fitting a single new disc against a worn one will result in uneven braking response. When replacing discs, pads should be replaced at the same time, bedding new pads onto a worn disc, and vice versa; this accelerates wear on both components. Matching brake pads are available in our truck brake pads collection.
All brake discs are available for UK nationwide delivery. Note that heavier items may be subject to pallet delivery charges. For full delivery options, see our orders and delivery page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I replace brake discs in pairs?
Yes. Discs must be replaced as a matched pair across the same axle. Fitting a new disc on one side against a worn disc on the other causes uneven braking, which can pull the vehicle under heavy braking loads.
Do I need to replace brake pads when replacing discs?
Yes. New pads should always be fitted with new discs. Bedding new pads onto a worn disc, or fitting new discs with old pads, accelerates wear and reduces the effectiveness of both components.
How do I identify which brake disc my vehicle requires?
Brake disc fitment depends on the vehicle make, model, axle type and caliper. Product listings include detailed fitment notes. If unsure, contact our sales team with your vehicle registration or chassis number.
What is the difference between a vented and solid brake disc?
Vented discs have internal channels between the disc faces that allow air circulation, improving heat dissipation. They are typically used on steer and drive axles with higher thermal loads. Solid discs are used on lower-demand applications. Always replace like-for-like unless a specific upgrade is being made.
Do I need a fitting kit with brake discs?
Disc fitting kits contain the hub bolts, retaining plates and seals required for correct installation. They are available separately in our brake pad & disc fitting kits collection and are recommended for each disc replacement.
