The fuse and circuit protection range at Truckstop is supplied by Durite and covers the main protection components used in commercial vehicle auto-electrical installations. PAL type male fuses are available from 40A to 120A in standard and long-leg variants, in green (40A), red (50A), yellow (60A) and white (120A) colour coding. Glass fuses in 32mm flat-ended format are also stocked.
Manual reset circuit breakers are available in panel mount and panel/base mount versions, with ratings from 10A to 60A, all suitable for 12/24V applications. A blade fuse type manual reset circuit breaker at 30A is also listed. Circuit breaker accessories include splash covers and dust caps. In-line fuse holders for 32mm fuses are stocked alongside the fuses.
Universal in-line diodes (10A) are available for back-EMF protection in relay circuits and similar applications.
Frequently asked questions
What is a PAL fuse?
A PAL fuse is a bolt-on type fuse used for high-current circuit protection in automotive applications. It connects between a battery terminal or distribution point and the circuit being protected. PAL fuses in this range run from 40A to 120A, suitable for main supply and high-current accessory circuits on commercial vehicles.
What is the difference between a fuse and a circuit breaker?
A fuse is a one-shot protection device: once blown, it must be replaced. A manual reset circuit breaker trips under overcurrent conditions but can be reset without replacement. Circuit breakers are used where nuisance blowing would cause operational problems, or where regular resetting is preferable to carrying spare fuses.
What amperage circuit breaker do I need?
The circuit breaker rating should be matched to the maximum continuous current draw of the circuit, with some headroom. The range covers 10A, 20A, 25A, 30A and 60A. For high-current applications such as inverters or heavy-duty accessories, check the rated continuous current before selecting.
Are these fuses suitable for 24V systems?
All circuit breakers in the range are rated for 12/24V. PAL fuses are automotive-rated components suitable for 12V and 24V systems. Check the individual product listing for the voltage rating of each item.
Can I get fuses and circuit breakers delivered next day?
Yes. In-stock fuses, holders and circuit breakers are available for next-day delivery to UK mainland addresses, or same-day collection from our branches in Redditch, Worcester, Birmingham and Evesham.
