LED marker lights for trucks and trailers at Truckstop Group
LED marker lights define the outline, width and position of trucks and trailers for other road users. On commercial vehicles, they are fitted along the sides, at the front and rear extremities, and at the top of the cab or trailer where height marking is required. The colour convention is fixed under road use regulations: white or amber at the front, amber along the sides, and red at the rear.
Guardian Automotive supplies the ECCO and Perei ranges in this collection. ECCO ML51 markers are available in amber (side), white (front) and red (rear). The ML52A is a larger amber side marker. ML74A is a slimline amber side marker for installations with limited mounting depth. The ML50DV is a compact amber option. Outline end markers cover the ML67 (universal) and ML68LH/RH (left and right hand) for front, side and rear outline marking. The ML101DI is a side marker with an integrated direction indicator function. Perei M11 and M20 series markers are available in amber and red.
Durite LED side markers include an amber marker with integrated reflex reflector (with leads), an amber marker with reflex reflector and bracket, and an amber rectangular side marker. All Durite units are 12/24V. Outline end markers are required on vehicles over a specified width under ECE Regulation 91 to mark the outermost points of the vehicle.
Frequently asked questions
What marker lights are required on HGV trailers in the UK?
Trailers must carry amber side marker lights at regular intervals along the length, red rear marker lights, and white or amber front marker lights. Vehicles over 2.1 metres wide must also carry outline end marker lights at the outermost points. Requirements are set out in the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations 1989 and ECE Regulation 91 for outline markers.
What is the difference between a side marker and an outline end marker?
A side marker lamp defines the side of the vehicle along its length. An outline end marker (EOM) is fitted at the front and rear corners of the vehicle to mark its outermost extremities. EOMs are required on vehicles over 2.1 metres wide under ECE R91.
What colours are required for truck and trailer marker lights?
White or amber at the front, amber along the sides, and red at the rear. Using the wrong colour in the wrong position is a lighting defect that will fail an annual test inspection.
Are LED marker lights a direct replacement for older bulb-type units?
In most cases, yes. LED marker lights can be fitted as direct replacements where the mounting and wiring configuration matches. Always check the connector type and voltage rating before ordering.
Can I get LED marker lights delivered next day?
Yes. In-stock LED marker lights are available for next-day delivery to UK mainland addresses, or same-day collection from our branches in Redditch, Worcester, Birmingham and Evesham.
