Commercial vehicle batteries work considerably harder than passenger car units. A large displacement diesel engine requires significantly more cold cranking amps to start, and the electrical loads from tail lifts, refrigeration units, sleeper cab systems and telematics run continuously after the engine starts. A battery that meets only the minimum starting specification will fail earlier under this cumulative load than one correctly matched to the vehicle's total electrical demand.

Batteries are classified as hazardous goods under transport regulations due to their lead and acid content. Standard courier networks do not accept them, so delivery is limited to our own local delivery area. Collection from any of our four branches is available same-day for in-stock items.
Should I replace truck batteries in pairs?
On HGVs with twin battery systems, yes. Batteries paired for years wear together. When one fails, the other is typically close behind. Replacing only the failed unit puts unbalanced charging strain on the new battery from the older unit, shortening the new battery's service life.
