The dosing module in heavy-duty vehicles serves a similar function to that in passenger vehicles. It is a device responsible for delivering a dosing fluid (most commonly AdBlue or DEF) to the SCR system.
The AdBlue pump is used to reduce emissions of harmful compounds such as nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere. The function of this device is to deliver a 32% aqueous solution of urea to the dispensers in the catalysts or injectors.
