Automotive switches, battery isolators and warning lights
The switches and indicators range at Truckstop covers battery isolation, manual switching and panel indication components for commercial vehicles. Battery isolators from Durite are available in 100A and 250A ratings in 24V, covering fixed key, removable key, ignition kill with removable key, and double-pole configurations. All include splashproof covers where the design requires it.
Push button controls include flush-mounted red push buttons, 2 and 3 button control boxes, and an emergency stop control box. Push button housings for 2-hole configurations are also stocked. Panel-mount warning lights cover LED versions in red, amber and green for 20mm panel holes at 12/24V, incandescent types in red and amber for 17mm holes, and amber types with chrome bezels for 13mm holes. Specific function warning lights include oil pressure (red), battery charging (red) and pre-heat (amber).
Frequently asked questions
What battery isolator do I need for my truck?
Battery isolators in this range are rated at 100A and 250A in 24V. For most standard commercial vehicle auxiliary circuit isolation, 100A is sufficient. Heavy-duty applications with high current draw may require the 250A version. Choose between fixed key, removable key or ignition kill based on the intended use. The double-pole version isolates both battery terminals simultaneously.
What is the purpose of an ignition kill battery isolator?
An ignition kill isolator cuts battery power and the ignition circuit simultaneously when activated. This is used where complete electrical isolation is required without leaving any live circuits, commonly for vehicle security and fire risk reduction on fuel-carrying vehicles.
What panel hole sizes are the warning lights designed for?
Warning lights in this range fit 13mm, 17mm and 20mm diameter panel holes. Check the existing panel hole size before ordering. LED types for 20mm holes are available in red, amber and green at 12/24V. Incandescent types for 13mm and 17mm holes require BA9s or Ba7S bulbs.
Are the battery isolators suitable for 24V systems?
Yes. All battery isolators in this collection are rated for 24V operation, as used on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
Can I get switches and isolators delivered next day?
Yes. In-stock products are available for next-day delivery to UK mainland addresses, or same-day collection from our branches in Redditch, Worcester, Birmingham and Evesham.
