Lubricants, grease and cleaning products for HGV workshops
The Workshop Warehouse range covers the aerosols, greases and cleaners a commercial vehicle workshop goes through every week. Most lines are S.A.S, sold as 500ml aerosols, with the universal maintenance lubricant and alloy wheel cleaner also available in 5 litre containers.
For seized fixings there is graphited penetration oil and freeze release spray. For electrical work, electrical contact cleaner and battery terminal protector. Grease comes in several forms: white, clear and silicone grease aerosols, SAS Bentone brake grease in a 75ml tube, Arctic Hayes silicone grease in a 500g tub and aluminium anti-seize compound in a 500g tin. Chain and cable lube, clear fine oil, silicone spray and food safe lube make up the rest of the lubricants.
The cab and valeting side includes air con sanitiser, Multi Shine, seat protectors on a roll of 100, a nylon seat cover, Little Tree air fresheners in packs of 24 and a 5-inch ice scraper. Grease guns and other consumables are in vehicle maintenance consumables.

Which product should I use on a seized fixing?
Graphited penetration oil is the usual first choice: spray it, give it time to work into the thread and try again. Freeze release spray cools the fixing rapidly so it contracts, which helps break corrosion. On a stubborn fixing, using one after the other is common practice.
Which grease is meant for brake components?
SAS Bentone brake grease, supplied in a 75ml tube. Follow the brake manufacturer's guidance on where grease can be applied, such as slide pins and contact points, and keep it well away from pads, linings and disc faces.
Can I buy in larger quantities?

Do these products need a COSHH assessment?
Some of them will. Products such as white spirit and penetrating oil can be hazardous substances under the COSHH Regulations 2002, which require employers to assess the risk and control exposure. Check the label and safety data sheet for each product and store aerosols away from heat.
